Coastal GasLink - Canada

⧭ Canada

Client: TransCanada

The project

The Coastal Gaslink is a project to build and operate a 48” natural gas pipeline to safely deliver natural gas from northeastern B.C. to the LNG Canada Development Inc. facility (LNG Canada), near Kitimat.

The solution

The teams developed a programme to control erosion and keep sediment out of wetlands and water bodies. The programme was built on a risk assessment for sensitive receiving environments and measuring erosion control and sediment.

The aim was to keep the water clean by bypassing the worksite to work on dry land and minimise the volume of dirty water that requires pumping.

The challenge

The extreme logistical challenge posed by the construction of the Coastal GasLink over the 29 km route through the Canadian Rockies demonstrates our ability to operate in the most hostile and complex environments, including steep mountainous terrains.
