Description of the Project
The contract is part of Compañia Minera Antamina developing mine complex in Central Peru for the production of copper and zinc concentrate from three different ores, copper (chalcopyrite and bornite) and zinc (sphalerite).
Work done and added value of our solution
The project scope covers the construction and procurement of 301 kilometres of steel slurry pipeline (213 kilometres of 11″, 36 kilometres of 10″, and 52 kilometres of 9″), facilities and Scada system to transport copper & zinc concentrates from the Antamina Mine in the Andes, to Puerto Huarmy on the Pacific coast.
This project benefit from the implementation of special health, safety and environmental measures to take into account the various ecosystems and the high altitude ranging from sea level to 4,750 metres above sea level. Working conditions were restricted along 170 kilometres of road, with 4 metres wide work space in addition to continuous public traffic.
Construction supported by 100 expatriates and 1,430 Peruvians, with a rigorous respect for safety, environmental and archaeological norms.
